The Muskoka offers a great combination of a large capacity, a high final stability, and volume that gives the paddler a real sense of seaworthiness. The most important benefit of this hull is unrivalled speed. Even on the largest lakes, it’s manageable size, and purposeful shape make it a very fast yet stable canoe. Whether the use is occasionally tandem or more predominantly solo, paddling the Muskoka is an effortless exercise. Having a similar profile to that of the Nahanni, the Muskoka couples a performance tripping design to a perfect dual purpose asymmetrical hull allowing it to work equally well solo or tandem. The paddler looking for an asymmetrical canoe under 16 should not overlook this canoe.
The “15” can be enjoyed by paddlers at all experience levels. This boat lends itself well to both solo paddlers and short duration tandem trippers. The 15 is the choice of fishers and hunters, a perfect back-country boat. The 15 is at home on small inland lakes, and on much bigger water. The deep and stable hull will permit larger loads for medium length tripping excursions, and the massive capacity of this “little” canoe makes it a safe tripping design for those requiring a length shorter than 16 foot. The flared Hull and moulded Spray Rail significantly improves it’s seaworthiness, allowing it to shed more water then any other 15 foot canoe. The slight V-Hull design, provides exceptional stability ( both initial and secondary ) and a tracking quality that is not typical of shorter symmetrical canoes. The slight V also allows this shorter canoe to slice through chop with the efficiency of a longer hull. The moderate rocker and shorter length allow nimble movement and quick pivoting when the need arises. Test Paddle the Prospector 15 to find out why its the most popular lightweight canoe under 16 feet on the market.
The Prospector 16’6″ is considered our most “user friendly” canoe. It’s best known for it’s stability, maneuverability, and all-round performance. Great in any conditions and perfect for long interior trips, this canoe is the choice with children or with dogs aboard. If you have gear for photography or have a nice fishing trip planned you will retain the responsiveness even with the extra weight. Thanks to the shallow arch design, coupled with moderate to high rocker, solo, tandem, or loaded, the prospector 16’6″ can do it all!
Our Ultimate Tripping Canoe! Fast, sleek and clean. Exceptional tracking, coupled with huge cargo capacity and interior roominess makes our 17’4″ the choice of both families and serious long duration trippers. Extreme stability means perfect for pets or children and those not 100% on the “well balanced” themselves. A wonderful canoe that you have to paddle to really appreciate. In any weather conditions or body of water, our prospector 17’4″ is an outstanding choice if you like to mix up your canoeing plans.
Travel far and fast with the Nahanni 16’5″. This Asymmetrical canoe accelerates quickly and tracks like an arrow, with enough rocker to allow nimble movement when necessary. Using computer aided design (CAD) the Gahanna’s hull has been engineered to offer the paddler, peak efficiency. With its deep hull, shallow draft, and water deflecting spray rail (a feature unique to Langford Canoe) the Nahanni is a dry, and seaworthy, workhorse, perfect for week long interior trips or recreational use.
Like its shorter sister ship the Northwind 17’10” has a hull that has been engineered to offer the paddler, peak efficiency. The Northwind’s deep hull, shallow draft, and water deflecting spray rail (a feature unique to Langford Canoe) keep this straight tracking, heavy hauler dry. The sleek asymmetrical hull combined with almost 18 feet of length make this a great canoe for family or those looking to cover water while carrying heavy loads.
Recently redesigned, the Cottager offers entry level paddlers one the most efficient and stable hulls on the market, at a great price. This 16′ foot hull, offers plenty of space for passengers, a spray rail to keep the hull dry, and great lines that make it effortless to paddle. Impact resistant polymer gunwales, solid wood components and stainless steel hardware offer amazing durability.
