Langford Canoe has established an exclusive Lifetime Warranty Policy
Langford Canoes are by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing or material defects. The warranty covers only the original owner(s) of the canoes. Canoes that are blemished or have minor cosmetic flaws which are sold by Langford Canoe or any of its dealers at reduced prices are not warranted against cosmetic defects but are warranted against structural defects.
Used canoes or “Sold As Is” canoes are not covered under our warranty policy.
All wood components of the canoe are warranted as well. In these cases when Langford Canoe has confirmed that there is an issue (i.e Knot in the wood that has caused a defect) the damaged or flawed component will be replaced or repaired at Langford’s discretion.
If a canoe is found to be defective, Langford Canoe will repair or replace the canoe under our warranty. However the customers will be responsible to and from Langfrod Canoe in Dwight Ontario.
Any decision to repair, or replace the canoe will be at the sole discretion of Langford Canoe.
The Langford Canoe warranty does not extend to damage caused by the customer as a result of accident, neglect, improper use or handling (i.e. use in rock filled rapids, damage while transporting), damage caused by weather, or from normal wear and tear. Canoes that have been structurally altered will not be warranted. Canoes used for commercial rentals will not be covered under warranty.
A copy of the original purchase receipt must accompany any warranty claim

DISCLAIMER
The Paddler assumes all risk to self and to others.
Canoeing and Kayaking are sports that require a certain level of skill, intelligence, equilibrium, and athleticism, all of which effect the users competency. Whether Novice or Expert, it is entirely up to the user to ensure their own safety. There are many courses, electronic sources of information, literature, private groups and non-profit organizations that can assist the user in safer operation of a canoe or kayak. Finding these sources of information requires little effort. Contacting a paddle-sports retailer, using internet search engines, leafing through a phone book, or attending a local library are some of many ways to find out more about safer canoe and kayak practices.
The user of a canoe and or kayak acknowledges that Canoes and Kayaks have historically been, and continue to be vessels that are prone to capsizing no matter the quality or condition of the canoe/kayak, the weather, or level of experience of the user. As with any outdoor sports, there are many inherent risks associated with the use of canoes and kayaks. Risks that may include but are not restricted to losses or damages to property, personal injury, and or death. These risks are omni-present with a severity that can only be lessened slightly through common sense and a cautious approach to use. Throughout the history of humankind, Water (H20), and aquatic environments have been, and continue to be known to be foreign or alien, and not hospitable to human survival. Water provides many threats to Homo Sapiens and other non-aquatic adapted organisms, as such any operation near, on, or in water, should be treated as a potentially life threatening situation, and proper precautions should be taken.
Although Langford Canoe always attempts to manufacture canoes that are the safest that material and methods will allow, all situations cannot be provided for. There is no substitute for constant education, and a cautious, approach to the use of canoes and kayaks at all times. Paddlers should always ensure their canoe is stored properly, that fasteners and components are tightened and inspected for wear, that gear is lashed or otherwise protected, that the weight of passenger and cargo is kept as low in the canoe as possible, and that proper equipment for the conditions is worn at all times. Unfortunately no level of preparedness can provide blanket protection against all situations. Ensure you have purchased the right canoe for the job, by test paddling, lifting, portaging etc.
Exclusion of Liability Langford Canoe makes no claim as to the safety of our products past or present. The user/owner of a Langford Canoe agrees that Langford Canoe cannot be held responsible for any injury, death, losses, costs or damages (whether direct, indirect, special, consequential or otherwise) that result from the use of our products. Ensure you have the right product for the job previous to your purchase.
